Thanks for stopping by! Chase left the physical world on 11/30/2021 after a long struggle with mental illness. He was 14. With the help of our community, we built this bench to be a place to connect, whether they knew Chase or not. It is a place to connect with your self, nature, friends, family, and the universe. Please enjoy, and also respect this beautiful preserve.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>20 yrs ago I ran this trail nearly every day.  Today I have a 14 yr old and live across the country.  This has been a special canyon for me and now even more so.  Thanks to the community for putting this here for us to connect and contemplate.  Saying a prayer today for everyone affected by mental illness, including my own family.</p>

I grew up on this Mesa. My family was here before any of the homes were built around this area. I used to ride my horse down into Peñasquitos Reserve and probably came down this path many years as a 14 year old. I have a 14 year old boy and his favorite place to come visit is my parents house which is still here on this Mesa. My prayers and love are with your family and pray that Chase is in the presence of our Lord and Creator who created him and loves him infinitely. 💗🙏

We feel blessed and honored to have a quiet moment at Chase’s bench. Many of us are mothers, and some of us have experienced loss; we send love and strength to the family and friends of Chase. We will definitely visit this spot again and sit and contemplate. Thank you.
